Be Proactive: Engage Employees in Change.

To help commitment, execute the change, and sustain the change, anticipate resistance and prepare accordingly.

Be Proactive  Involve employees throughout the process.

Watchouts  Change can create fear, anxiety and uncertainty.  Employees may be thinking: ▪ Will I have time to learn the new processes? ▪ Do I have the skills needed? ▪ Is my job at risk? ▪ Will I have a new manager? ▪ Will I meet the new expectations? ▪ What are the new metrics?  Identify existing trust issues.  Monitor the “grapevine”.  Listen for concerns and address directly.

 Highlight What’s In It for Me “WIFM”.  Identify Change Agents for support.  Is there a need or opportunity to create a Change Agent Team?  Communicate frequently and consistently.  Be transparent.  Empower employees to implement the changes.  Create opportunities for feedback and solicit solutions.  Set clear expectations.  Schedule and implement training.

 Communicate new metrics.  Celebrate wins and success.
